Tip your hat, and shake the hand of the chacellor...

Wow, the past week has flown past.
Only 2 days at work - Monday and Tuesday were spent in 'Anzac' Holidays. Which included a thrilling soccer game on the tuesday to see the mighty St Columbus "Black" team - defeat the Not quite as mighty St Columbus "Orange" team in a 1-0 thriller.

regardless 2 past days have been something special, and felt it would be something I would share with the internet.

On Thursday, I attended the awards ceremony for University awards for the IT department. Now don't get this wrong - I'm not a computing genius, nor really will I ever be as talented as most of the people who graced that room. I was there as a recipient to the award for my team project of last year, which won first prize. It was a good night, Bron came along to support (thankyou honey). I got to see old friends and catch up - and was able to make one of my lecturers day when I was able to discuss accurately with one of the senior managers what was happening in today's IT market. She was really pleased about it - and she is an awesome lecturer, so that was great. Also seeing Phil and Mellor and just catching up was awesome.

On Friday, Graduation!! I wasn't sure what to expect. I wasn't really into it, until I got there. Was great to finally finish - and was really good to celebrate what I have learnt at University. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was grateful that both Bronni and Mum could make it too. Apart from the fact that the champers was 7 bucks a pop - it was great to don the batman costume and to walk on the grass of the main quad. Really loved it.
Also as exciting was being able to come back to terrace!! I have missed the place and the people there SOOOOOOOO MUCH!! At 12 everyone came to terrace to say hi; and thanks to everyone who dropped in - it was so much fun to see everyone again. Also the man-time with Phil and Iain (and later Sonia) was great - just hanging and chilling in the bar; and drinking celebrations to God's timing, and his future plans for all of us. I also greatly enjoyed the time spent just catching up and chatting with Sonia on the way home.

On the note of people: being removed and coming back in, I see lots of things - but one of them is a enewed maturity. Everyone seemed to have grown up in some incredible ways to how things were last year, there is this sense of maturity in everyone - that I was not used to. People have taken some huge steps, both in finding peace for themselves in Christ; but also in giving and leading in encouragement of those around them. It struck me and surprised me and excited me. Be encouraged EU remnant!

It's days like this that I treasure. But its treasure looking forward, and wondering what God's glorious plans hold for us next, and I think we can toast to that next time boys :).

Ups and upper ups.

I have so much to be joyful about - and I rarely have time to acknowledge it all. God blesses me with the most wonderful friends, with the most wonderful opportunities to serve him, and to share with others about the awesome God we have.

I have a wonderful job that I actually enjoy doing.

I have a church which loves me and grows me steadfastly in his word. I have a youth group which has made a huge turn around, and is beginning to get their act together in following God and getting stuck into following him in obedience.

I have a girlfriend who has shared an awesome 6 months with me... and I look forward to sharing a bit longer too :). (for everyone else - we have no intention of getting hitched anytime soon.. don't read into it.)

I have the joyful prospect of a 4 day weekend fast approaching.

I'm not bragging about my life or claiming that I have something perfect - anyone who knows me knows that my failings are as close to the skin as my joys. But God has given me peace - and with that Joy and contentment in him. and its something worthy of such praise.

missing mobile

my mobile was nicked from my car on Saturday at the peto on the way home from paintball. I honestly have never quite realised how dependant I have become on that thing. Like that is where ALL my friends details are. It's my communication to the rest of the world (that I care about at least). It's my connection to my friends - so swiftly taken from me...

well maybe over the top - but I used to be such an anti mobile guy (see case, up until last year) - and now I'm so completely dependant on it. Crazy.

Anyways - my number won't change - I can get a replacement sim, and a new phone as soon as I get a chance to go down to the vodfone store in mt druitt.

Such is life.
