Beachmission
Another awesome year of beachmission has passed - and this has been one of the most fantastic experiences that I have had in a very long time. This year was a year where I was able to see the fruits of the last 4 years of teaching and serving down at Gerroa, and for this I am extremely grateful to God for allowing me to be involved in his work.
I was involved in the JT's section (age 10-14) for the first time this year. We had a regular group of people whom would come along to everything - and a few people who were at some things and not others and some people who just liked to chat to us - but were "too cool" to come along to anything. Likewise there was a great range of where they were at; two boys, Doug and Mark were regulars whom had a solid understand of their faith, and were wonderful examples to the rest of the group. Others had been coming along for years but hadn't fully understood or committed and some were hearing about Christ for the very first time. There was around 30 youth in all whom we were able to reach down there.
There was some awesome conversations had in this time too. A boy named Tristan whom I have been chatting to for the last 4 years decided that this was the truth, and that he needed to commit himself to Jesus fully! Likewise, his younger brother Rhys, whom made a commitment last year - decided to take it more seriously - both are looking for a church in the Shire (Kirrawee). Its awesome awesome news, and such a blessing to be a part of the ministry of seeing them come to christ - and I hope to see them grow as Christians over the coming years.
Likewise, there was several people whom decided that they wanted to check out the gospel further. Pray for Adam and for Daniel and Jade. Adam in particular has a rough upbringing and is really keen to know more (in a "im really interested but I need to look cool" kind of way. Pray for him - he lives in Panania.
Daniel and Jade live in Rooty Hill... pray that they will come along to either my youth group, or MBM's youth group.
Finally pray for a girl named Khalia. She is a regular church goer with a REALLY tough upbringing - but was very blatent about the fact that she was not a Christian. I had a really good chat with her, as did Katie. She believes all the stuff - she just hasn't made Christ Lord. Pray for her to see God for the loving creator that he is, and for her to commit to him.
Praise God, for he is an awesome God, and he works in people so spectacularly. These are just the people I have spoken with personally - there are so many other wonderful conversations that happened on mission. Praise God -- and come along on mission next year :P
current song stuck in my head: I've Got Joy; Lots and Lots and Lots - beachmission team
current tune stuck in my head: Super Mario Bros.
